I thought it was high time I posted a video update on my apartment here in Korea, so here it is! Sorry the sound quality is a bit off at times, I kept accidentally covering the microphone on my new camera (duhhhh).
Some notes on this video that I just sort of skimmed over and then later realize could use a bit of explaining! (1:07) The whole "take your shoes off at the door" thing is like, a 100% no exceptions rule for households here. Of course, being that I am a foreigner and basically all of my friends are too, we wear our shoes inside each others houses sometimes without thinking about it. But if I were to come into the home of a Korean person, I wouldn't even consider keeping them on, it just doesn't happen. Even some restaurants have you take them off before you come in to eat - it's just customary! (1:38) That is LITERALLY a mini fridge. I have two friends in all of Korea whom I know have full sized refrigerators. Makes grocery shopping/cooking/storing food an absolute nightmare. (2:00) I realize I said "fridge" when I meant to say "cabinets..." I'm tired! (3:00) The whole bathroom/shower thing is pretty normal in Korea, I don't know anybody who has a normal shower that's separated by a curtain or a door from the rest of the bathroom. It takes about three or more hours for the bathroom to dry after a shower. The toilet seat stays wet FOREVER - lovely. (4:08) Basically nobody has a queen bed because it takes up a ridiculous amount of space and all apartments here are small... so that's just me being an idiot/really super comfortable.
The music was a song by Girls Generation, one of the most popular KPop girl groups in Korea. I actually really like them... not that song in particular, per se, but their music is fun to dance to/act like an idiot to. Only God (and all Koreans) knows what the lyrics say, but I like it!
