My Spacious Korean Apartment

I thought it was high time I posted a video update on my apartment here in Korea, so here it is!  Sorry the sound quality is a bit off at times, I kept accidentally covering the microphone on my new camera (duhhhh).

Some notes on this video that I just sort of skimmed over and then later realize could use a bit of explaining!  (1:07) The whole "take your shoes off at the door" thing is like, a 100% no exceptions rule for households here.  Of course, being that I am a foreigner and basically all of my friends are too, we wear our shoes inside each others houses sometimes without thinking about it.  But if I were to come into the home of a Korean person, I wouldn't even consider keeping them on, it just doesn't happen.  Even some restaurants have you take them off before you come in to eat - it's just customary! (1:38) That is LITERALLY a mini fridge. I have two friends in all of Korea whom I know have full sized refrigerators.  Makes grocery shopping/cooking/storing food an absolute nightmare.  (2:00) I realize I said "fridge" when I meant to say "cabinets..." I'm tired!  (3:00) The whole bathroom/shower thing is pretty normal in Korea, I don't know anybody who has a normal shower that's separated by a curtain or a door from the rest of the bathroom.  It takes about three or more hours for the bathroom to dry after a shower.  The toilet seat stays wet FOREVER - lovely.  (4:08) Basically nobody has a queen bed because it takes up a ridiculous amount of space and all apartments here are small... so that's just me being an idiot/really super comfortable.

The music was a song by Girls Generation, one of the most popular KPop girl groups in Korea.  I actually really like them... not that song in particular, per se, but their music is fun to dance to/act like an idiot to.  Only God (and all Koreans) knows what the lyrics say, but I like it!

haha you're hilarious. LOVED the tour; it was cool seeing what it's like in Korea (not surprisingly, it's pretty much the same in Thailand too).

Miss you cuz! And I can't believe you've been there seven months alreadyyyyy

    1. Do you go around just pressing red buttons? NO. Only people who like to detonate things/have no sense of safety do that. I guess I should find out what it is, though... and you're tellin' me! These 7 months have FLOWN by.

  2. (this is the soft launch of my new email account, to be activated in .. um .. 16 days!)

PMPL ... shoot I thought I coined a new one but it's in Urban Dictionary already. Anyway, you being you -- inspires me to attempt to come up with new expressions for how hard I'm laughing. Like, here's what all these buttons are for. Floor. Hot water. Um, yeah. That's two out of FIVE, Syd! What if the red button is the "up" elevator button to the penthouse portion of the apartment that you're as of now not yet aware of? PUSH THE BUTTON! (Now, if you were in NORTH Korea, I might hesitate)

Peeing your pants laughing? Real mature (I had to google). Seriously is there an acronym that hasn't already been created? I just don't understand internet lingo (said every 55 year old woman ever).

      I pushed the red button.
      .....
It just turns the entire thing off.
      Womp womp.
